Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for a true team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical practice. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable providing clinical support alongside our physicians and clinical staff and stepping in to assist with front office and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Prepare patients for examination, obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Assist physicians and clinical staff during examinations, procedures, and minor in-office surgical treatments
- Perform clinical tasks within the CMA scope of practice, such as wound care assistance, dressing changes, application of splints/casts/boots, and durable medical equipment fitting as directed
- Prepare and maintain exam and procedure rooms, ensuring cleanliness, stocking, and readiness between patients
- Sterilize and prepare instruments and maintain compliance with infection-control and OSHA standards
- Accurately document patient care and clinical notes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging, referrals, and prescriptions under provider direction
Administrative & Front Office Support
- Field incoming calls on a busy multi-line phone system, responding promptly, professionally, and warmly
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits
- Greet and check patients in and out with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist with surgical scheduling, authorizations, and bookings as needed
- Provide general administrative support to clinical and front office staff and assist wherever needed to keep the office running efficiently
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in strict compliance with HIPAA standards
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the practice
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program (e.g., AAMA, or equivalent) Preferred
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant- 1 year required
- Experience in a surgical, orthopedic, or podiatric setting Preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required; experience with EPIC is a plus
- Strong clinical skills paired with solid computer and technology proficiency
- Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone
- A positive, upbeat personality and a genuine, patient-centered approach to care
