Medical Assistant/Front Desk
Hours: 30 minute lunch M-TH, no lunch break on Friday but can eat at desk
- Monday and Wednesday: 8am-4:30pm (might start at 8:30am some days, some times will have to stay past 4:30pm – must be able to stay until last patient is seen)
- Tuesday and Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm (could flex to an 8am start based on Providers but that is very rare – some times will have to stay past 4:30pm – must be able to stay until last patient is seen)
- Friday: 8:30am-2:30pm (NO lunch because they get paid to 3:30pm).
Temp-to-hire
Requirements:
- Flu vaccination (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
- Medical Assistant certification/diploma
- National certification a plus
- CPR certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- At least 3-5 years of medical front desk experience – must be comfortable working the front office (role will primarily be at the front desk – will be trained on back office and work as a MA as well)
- At least 3-4 years of clinical MA experience
- Experience working in an OBGYN office strongly preferred
- Open to candidates that have not worked in OBGYN but they must have strong and consistent medical admin experience
- Must have consistent work history
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
- EMR experience
- Experience with Next-Gen a plus
- Must be able to assist with both front office and back office duties
- Must be comfortable answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, completing insurance verifications and authorizations
- Must have knowledge on how to verify a patient’s insurance and pull an insurance card from the carrier portal
- Must have experience assisting providers
- Must have experience rooming patients, taking vitals, prepping exam rooms
- Experience triaging a call and forwarding it to the right person if they don’t know they answer/what to do in that situation
- Will be cross trained on Medical Secretary duties (will cover that position if a medical secretary is out)
- Medical admin back office experience a plus
- Will be responsible for scheduling sonography appointments for patients and putting in orders for mammograms
