Compensation: $95,000–$120,000 annually

About the Position

A Hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Imagingto oversee the clinical, operational, and financial performance of its Imaging Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative radiology leader who enjoys a combination of administrative leadership and hands-on clinical work. The department provides a range of imaging services and is supported by a dedicated team of full-time and per diem staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong radiology leadership experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day department operations. Multi-modality experience is preferred, with strong X-Ray and CT experience highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for daily Radiology Department operations, including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and performance management

• Foster a culture of patient-centered care, employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital planning, equipment contracts, and operational expenses

• Monitor productivity, financial performance, and quality metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes

• Ensure compliance with CMS, state, federal, accreditation, and regulatory requirements while maintaining continuous survey readiness

• Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, and clinical departments to optimize imaging services and patient care delivery

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development efforts for radiology staff

• Evaluate department needs and recommend strategic initiatives to support future growth and service expansion

• Maintain strong relationships with referring providers, community partners, and external stakeholders

• Provide hands-on clinical support when needed based on department staffing needs

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required

• Leadership experience within a radiology or imaging department required

• 5+ years of radiology experience preferred

• Supervisory or management experience preferred

• Multi-modality imaging experience preferred

• X-Ray and CT experience strongly preferred

• Candidates with strong experience in a single modality and demonstrated leadership success are encouraged to apply

• Knowledge of healthcare operations, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement principles

• Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills

• Ability to balance administrative leadership with hands-on operational responsibilities
