Photopheresis Registered Nurse

Salary: $120,000-$150,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Position Overview
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with photopheresis experience to help launch and develop a new photopheresis program.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, self-starting RN who enjoys building programs and wants the opportunity for long-term growth. As the program expands, there will be opportunities for leadership and increased responsibility.
The position combines patient care, clinical operations, and program development.
Responsibilities
- Administer extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) treatments to patients with Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL).
- Operate the Therakos
Cellex
Photopheresis System according to established protocols.
- Assess patients before, during, and after treatment.
- Prepare and administer treatments, including methoxsalen.
- Obtain venous access through peripheral veins or central venous catheters.
- Monitor treatment parameters, flow rates, and fluid balance.
- Ensure proper equipment setup, safety, and cleanliness.
- Load and prime the photopheresis machine with appropriate procedural kits and solutions.
- Monitor patients for treatment reactions and provide appropriate interventions.
- Coordinate and schedule ECP treatments.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, side effects, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with dermatologists, hematologists, clinical trial teams, and other members of the care team.
- Assist with clinical trial coordination, including patient identification, enrollment, treatment administration, and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to photopheresis and CTCL care.
- Provide general dermatology nursing support as needed.
Qualifications
- Current New York State RN license or eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience.
- 4+ years of related nursing experience.
- BLS certification or eligibility.
- ACLS certification or eligibility.
- Previous photopheresis (ECP) experience is required.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following settings is strongly preferred:
- Photopheresis / ECP
- Apheresis
- Hematology/Oncology
- Dermatology
- Transplant
- Infusion
Experience with the Therakos UVAR or CELLEX systems is highly relevant.
