Description:   Financial Analyst – Compensation Planning to support the planning, analysis, and administration of employee compensation programs. This role partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, and business leaders to develop compensation budgets, analyze workforce costs, support annual merit and bonus planning, and provide insights that drive strategic compensation decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with an understanding of compensation practices and workforce planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze annual compensation budgets, forecasts, and long-range workforce plans.
  • Support the annual merit increase, bonus, and incentive compensation planning processes.
  • Analyze salary, bonus, and benefit costs across departments to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
  • Build financial models to evaluate compensation proposals, organizational changes, and hiring plans.
  • Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to assess the financial impact of new hires, promotions, transfers, and organizational restructures.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on compensation metrics, labor costs, headcount, and workforce analytics.
  • Monitor compensation spending against budget and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with salary benchmarking using internal and external market data.
  • Support month-end and quarterly workforce expense forecasting.
  • Ensure compensation data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and financial systems.
  • Collaborate with Finance during annual operating plan (AOP) and budget cycles.
  • Develop dashboards and presentations for executive leadership summarizing compensation and labor cost trends.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with compensation policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation and data visualization tools.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, compensation analysis, or workforce planning.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting compensation planning or total rewards programs.
  • Knowledge of compensation structures, salary administration, and incentive programs.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, UKG, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, or Oracle HCM.
  • Experience with financial planning tools
