Geriatric Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Multiple Openings Available
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
Compensation: $35–$50/hour based on experience
Shift Differentials:

  • Weeknights: +$3.50/hour
  • Weekends: +$5.00/hour

Retention Bonus: Up to $8,000 (paid in installments over 24 months)

A healthcare organization is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join a specialized inpatient behavioral health program focused on caring for older adults. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who is passionate about providing patient-centered care and supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The Geriatric Behavioral Health RN will provide nursing care for adult patients ages 65+ in a short-stay inpatient setting. This role focuses on comprehensive assessment, care planning, medication management, patient education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support each patient’s mental health and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to geriatric behavioral health patients
  • Complete patient assessments and identify changes in condition requiring intervention
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Administer medications and evaluate patient response
  • Prioritize care for patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs
  • Collaborate with providers, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care
  • Delegate appropriately and support nursing team collaboration
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with clinical standards
  • Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience in behavioral health, geriatrics, med/surg, or a related nursing specialty preferred

Required Certifications:

  • BLS
