Sales Representative (Engineering Background)
$30-$31 per hour (overtime potential)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Engineered Sales Representative I to support engineered services operations by preparing technical quotations and proposals based on customer specifications and requirements. This role works closely with internal teams, customers, and external partners to provide accurate costing, material recommendations, and manufacturing solutions for precision-cut components produced through waterjet, plasma, and laser processing.
The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting and CAD skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret customer drawings, blueprints, prints, and part specifications.
- Create and modify technical drawings using CAD software.
- Generate.DXF and DWG files from customer sketches and concepts.
- Develop material nests to optimize material utilization and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to source raw materials and identify inventory requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement and external suppliers regarding specialty materials and outsourced services.
- Recommend appropriate materials and manufacturing methods based on customer requirements.
- Calculate processing, material, packaging, and overall production costs to develop accurate quotations.
- Enter quotations and orders into the company ERP system and provide information to sales teams.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify specifications, resolve technical issues, and support project requirements.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certificate, associate degree, or coursework in drafting, engineering technology, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in drafting, manufacturing, metal processing, engineering support, or a related technical environment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of design techniques, drafting principles, blueprint reading, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in metals manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments is preferred.
