Production Supervisor – Medical Device Manufacturing

Location: Taunton, MA
Compensation: $90,000–$97,000 Base Salary

Position Overview

We are partnering with an established and growing medical device manufacturing organization in Taunton, MA, seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and oversee a team of approximately 12 employees.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving operational performance, and driving results in a quality-focused production environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing experience, proven supervisory capabilities, and a solid understanding of production scheduling, equipment efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Experience with extrusion manufacturing would be a significant advantage, although it is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a production team of approximately 12 employees.

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives are achieved.

  • Manage production schedules, staffing, equipment utilization, and workflow to maximize efficiency.

  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators, including OEE, throughput, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency, and schedule attainment.

  • Provide hands-on leadership in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and production challenges.

  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve operational issues and improve overall performance.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve equipment performance.

  • Drive accountability for production targets, employee performance, and quality standards.

  • Support employee training, performance evaluations, workforce development, and cross-training initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, manufacturing procedures, and applicable quality standards.

  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably within medical device manufacturing.

  • At least 2 years of production leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Extrusion manufacturing experience is highly desirable but not required.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising manufacturing employees and managing daily production operations.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), downtime, scrap, and production efficiency.

  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and workforce management.

  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and work effectively with technical teams.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.

  • Experience in ISO 13485 or other regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.

  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools preferred.
