Accounts Receivable Specialist – Remote (New England)
FULL TIME ROLE – HOURLY RATE: $30-33 per hour with Benefits
About the Opportunity
A well-established professional services organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to support its finance team. This position plays a key role in cash application, payment research, account reconciliation, and customer account support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid opportunities available in multiple East Coast locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and apply incoming customer payments accurately and timely.
- Research and resolve unidentified, unapplied, or pending cash receipts.
- Respond to accounts receivable inquiries from internal stakeholders.
- Manage and resolve finance-related service requests through a ticketing system.
- Support account adjustments, write-offs, reversals, and reallocations as needed.
- Partner with collections and accounting teams to ensure proper payment allocation.
- Maintain accuracy and meet established service-level expectations.
- Assist with special projects and other finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional accounting coursework is a plus.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data entry functions.
- Experience working with ERP, accounting, or financial management software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a professional and customer-service-focused approach.
