Quality Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing (AS9100)
Location: East Bay, Rhode Island – Bristol Area

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 annually
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Are you an experienced aerospace Quality Manager who enjoys working directly with customers, developing inspection teams, and improving manufacturing performance?
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead Quality Control for a growing manufacturer of high-performance aerospace components. This highly visible leadership position reports directly to the President and serves as the primary customer contact for quality matters from New Product Introduction through production and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
-
Lead and develop Quality Control and inspection personnel.
-
Oversee inspection activities throughout NPI and production.
-
Develop quality plans, First Article Inspections, and technical inspection plans.

Serve as the primary customer contact for quality issues and complaints.

Lead root-cause investigations, containment, and corrective and preventive actions.

Develop short- and long-term corrective actions for escapes and nonconforming products.
-
Analyze quality complaints, escapes, and near misses to prevent recurrence.

Lead daily Material Review Board meetings and serve as Chief Inspector.

Maintain and improve the Quality Management System.

Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, NADCAP, and customer requirements.

Prepare for and participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits.

Incorporate process-control data into inspection planning.

Prepare reports covering quality trends, losses, risks, and improvement activities.

Partner with Engineering, Production, customers, and suppliers to improve quality.

Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
-
Seven to ten years of Quality Engineering or Quality Control leadership experience.

Direct quality-management experience in aerospace manufacturing.
-
Strong working knowledge of AS9100.

Experience maintaining ISO, AS9100, and NADCAP compliance and certifications.

Demonstrated customer-facing experience resolving complaints and quality concerns.

Experience leading root-cause analysis, containment, CAPA, and corrective actions.

Strong knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing inspection methods.

Experience supervising and developing Quality or inspection personnel.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience with thermoplastics, plastic injection molding, composites, or CNC machining.

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.

Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Proven record of improving quality and manufacturing performance.
