A leading aerospace manufacturing organization in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Manager of Contracts to oversee the full lifecycle of complex commercial, aerospace, defense, and industrial customer agreements.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity supporting multiple business units and partnering closely with executive leadership, Sales, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal. The successful candidate will play a critical role in protecting the business, negotiating strategic agreements, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting long-term customer growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the review, negotiation, drafting, and administration of customer contracts, long-term agreements (LTAs), NDAs, purchase agreements, and contract amendments.
- Evaluate customer terms and conditions while identifying commercial, financial, operational, and legal risk.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure contractual obligations are clearly communicated and successfully executed.
- Support complex aerospace and defense programs involving OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, military, and government-related customers.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable aerospace and defense standards.
- Participate in pricing, warranty, liability, delivery, and commercial negotiations.
- Support proposal reviews and ensure contractual requirements are addressed prior to quotation submission.
- Monitor contract performance, renewals, milestones, change orders, and ongoing compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to contract administration, documentation, and risk management.
- Support internal and external audits while maintaining accurate contract records.
- Advise leadership on strategic customer agreements and contractual matters.
- Provide guidance across the organization regarding contract interpretation and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
- 5-10+ years of experience in contract management, commercial operations, program management, or business development within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and customer terms and conditions.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing environments and engineered products.
- Experience supporting OEM and Tier 1 aerospace customers is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, government contracting, and aerospace quality requirements is a plus.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
