About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Controller / Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations for a growing manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounting operations, payroll oversight, internal controls, and business analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing finance background and experience leading a small finance team while partnering with senior leadership to drive business performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, costing, payroll oversight, and cash management.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and present financial reports and business performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
- Monitor weekly cash flow forecasts and support strategic financial decision-making.
- Manage internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Oversee inventory controls, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory.
- Support capital expenditure planning and financial analysis for new business initiatives.
- Review and maintain costing models to ensure accurate product costing.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and ERP systems.
- Mentor and develop finance staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Participate in strategic planning and cross-functional business initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- 3+ years of Controller or Finance Manager experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and cash management.
- Experience with ERP systems and ERP implementations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to leadership.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
