FAA Sandblasting Operator
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift Options:
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
This position is subject to random drug testing in accordance with FAA regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment, including sandblasting machines, air compressors, and related tools.
- Prepare metal and composite surfaces by removing rust, paint, scale, corrosion, and other contaminants.
- Select the appropriate abrasive media based on material type and required surface finish.
- Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment, including hoses, nozzles, and related components.
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and production instructions.
- Identify and handle aircraft components using visual and electronic reference systems.
- Prepare parts for downstream processes such as painting, anodizing, coating, and other surface treatments.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of abrasive blasting, sandblasting, surface preparation, or related manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English in accordance with FAA requirements.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation practices is preferred.
