Pay: $22-25/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30AM ��� 4:00PM
May have occasional overtime
Overview:
Will report directly to Service Manager
Perform aerial lift inspections, die tests, major & minor repairs, and occasional road service calls
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Hydraulic Service Technician experience
- Have current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must have own tools: Wrenches and sockets from ¼” – ½”, full screwdriver set, pry bar set, hammers – soft faced to sledge (plastic & brass), torque wrenches from 10 ft lbs – 350ft lbs, test lights and multi-meters
- Must be able to use bench and hand grinders, MIG welder, plasma cutter, and oxy/acetylene torches
- Possess strong mechanical ability including assembly
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems used in aerial lift equipment
Physical Tasks:
- Must be able to lift over 80lbs
- Comfortable with heights over 50’
- Must be able to frequently climb up, under, and around all types of equipment
- Must be able to use all types of mechanic hand and power tools including impact guns, drills and grinders, as well as hand and torque wrenches
- Must be able to drive a vehicle with manual transmission and a clutch
- Must be able to visually inspect aerial devices for defects, read schematics, manuals, and work orders
- Must have the ability to properly diagnose mechanical issues with an aerial lift by listening to the sounds it makes during operation
Responsibilities:
- Routinely perform OSHA/ANSI inspections on all types of aerial lift equipment, main lifts, and cranes
- Produce detailed and accurate service reports, inspection reports, and parts requests
- Plan jobs to facilitate best use of time and resources, diagnose problems first to allow adequate time to get the necessary parts to complete the job
- Review and understand work orders prior to performing any work on a job or ordering any parts
- Ensure that all jobs have the correct time posted to them and that all applicable parts are applied to the job
- Communicate with supervisors about any changes to the job as they occur
- Make certain that jobs are completed in the most efficient manner
- Greet customers in a positive and friendly manner
- Check-in incoming customer vehicles for repair which will include going out to the vehicle under all weather conditions, gathering all pertinent vehicle and lift information
- Keep constant notes on work order and service report to help keep track of progress
- Once a job is completed, ensure that all paperwork related to the job is ready for processing – all parts have been correctly applied and that labor has been posted to the job
- Constant and continual flow of jobs and especially paperwork is critical particularly to the billing department therefore it is very important that every effort is made to move finished paperwork forward as quickly as possible – constant backlogs are not acceptable
- Maintain a positive and upbeat, motivated attitude
- Assist with any specialty project where it is required
- Keep work station area organized and clean
- Participate in trainings as applicable
