Cable Assembler Technician / Group Leader
Location: North Attleboro / Attleboro Falls, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: $27/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cable Assembler Technician / Group Leader to join a growing electronics manufacturing team. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone with strong experience in cable assembly, wire harnesses, soldering, electrical wiring, and electro-mechanical assembly who is also comfortable providing day-to-day guidance to a production team.
The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, perform detailed assembly work, maintain quality standards, and help coordinate workflow and production priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of cable assemblers to maintain an efficient production workflow.
- Assign daily work based on production schedules, priorities, labor requirements, and available equipment.
- Assemble electrical cables, wire harnesses, and electro-mechanical components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Perform cable fabrication, wiring, crimping, terminating, soldering, and related assembly work.
- Support electrical panel building and mechanical assembly as needed.
- Ensure completed assemblies meet established quality and workmanship standards.
- Provide hands-on training, guidance, and technical support to assembly team members.
- Identify production issues and assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Help drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and manufacturing processes.
- Follow established manufacturing procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with cable assembly, wire harness assembly, electrical assembly, or electro-mechanical manufacturing required.
- Prior experience as a Team Lead, Group Leader, Senior Assembler, or trainer strongly preferred.
- Strong soldering, wiring, crimping, and cable assembly skills.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Experience with electrical panel building and mechanical assembly is a plus.
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 standards preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot assembly and production issues.
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
