Call Center Representative
Location: Shelton, CT (Pediatric office)
Schedule:
Full-time, 30+ hrs/week; schedule varies.
Mon–Fri: 7:30 AM–8 PM | Sat: 9 AM–3:30 PM | Sun: 9 AM–12:30 PM.
Weekday/weekend flexibility required.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients, parents, and guardians in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Respond to questions and provide accurate information while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Listen carefully to callers and determine the appropriate next steps or resources.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and office staff.
- Handle a high volume of calls while maintaining a positive and compassionate attitude.
- Document calls and patient information accurately within the computer system.
- Follow established office procedures and healthcare protocols.
- Escalate questions or concerns to the appropriate department or healthcare professional when necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service and help create a positive experience for pediatric patients and their families.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities over time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience required, preferably in a call center or phone-based environment.
- At least 1 year of computer experience required.
- At least 1 year of healthcare experience preferred/required based on client needs.
- At least 1 year of phone center/call center experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
