Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:
Data Analyst
- Assists GME Director in collecting data required for ACGME annual accreditation reporting
- Obtain and maintain approval from Institutional Review Board for all current projects.
- Supervises research assistants and ensures study protocol is followed.
- Supervises student volunteers working on projects with residency core faculty (ex. Commonwealth Corps volunteers)
- Allows projects to be scheduled in such a way that they do not interfere with each other.
- Performs literature reviews needed for project development and quality improvement
- Conduct data entry, management, and analysis utilizing the proper data management software.
- Serves as liaison with medical records, IS, nursing, residency, providers and other departments/persons involved in Health Center research and residency quality improvement projects.
- Design, translate, pilot and administer questionnaires to patients; construction & management of databases
- Coordinate study protocols. (Coordinate design & implementation of protocol, e.g. giving questionnaires to patients, calling patients, medical record review, arranging meetings with consultants & collaborators, etc.)
- Track Residents’ research projects and their progress for ACGME compliance
- Coordinates projects as necessary, i.e., coordinate IRB application preparation, conduct data analysis, etc
- Coordinate Research Project Presentation Days for 4th-year residents
- Maintain Residency’s List of Faculty Publications and Presentations at State, Regional, and National Meetings.
- Coordinates meetings and composes types, proofreads, posts, and distributes minutes and agendas for all meetings chaired by Research Director
Study Coordinator
- Maintain certification with appropriate Institutional Review Boards as the IRB Coordinator for GLFHC (CITI)
- Coordinates and manages appropriate Institutional Review Board Applications for research projects that are being considered for GLFHC; liaison with university IRB Offices and Residency Office
- Performs literature search for related articles.
- Reads articles in order to draft-up backgrounds and narratives with little or no supervision.
- Performs edits made by Primary Investigator as necessary
- Actively participates in grant writing and submission for Residency Department.
- Works with Grants Administrator to research qualifying grants as necessary.
- Performs literature search of related articles.
- Prepares “package” with all necessary correspondence to ensure proper submission
- Actively participates in manuscript preparation and submission, co-authors occasionally
- Actively participates in conference proposal preparation and submission, co-authors and presents occasionally.
- Screen applicants; issue acceptance and declination communication
- Process accepted student applications
- Collect necessary paperwork for the rotation; liaison with HR & IS
- Create student schedules
- Conduct student Orientations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in administration (or equivalent), preferably in an academic setting
- Must be a well-organized self-starter exhibiting a high degree of professionalism capable of working with limited supervision
- High degree of computer literacy required, especially on Word and Excel
- Project management skills desirable
- Familiarity with grant writing and/or manuscript preparation desired
