Quality Improvement RN

Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $90,000 – 100,000/year
Work Setting: Fully onsite initially, with potential hybrid flexibility in the future

Position Overview

The Quality Improvement RN is an administrative nursing role focused on improving patient care, safety, and organizational quality standards. This position does not involve direct patient care. The RN will support quality improvement initiatives, monitor healthcare metrics, assist with risk management efforts, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

This role is ideal for an RN with experience in Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Compliance, Quality Metrics, or Healthcare Data/Analytics who enjoys using data and reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource for risk management and patient safety initiatives
  • Review and summarize incident reports, complaints, and safety concerns
  • Lead quality improvement meetings and track department goals, outcomes, and performance measures
  • Support the development and revision of policies and procedures related to safety and emergency preparedness
  • Monitor quality metrics and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to improve quality measures and reporting
  • Support HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) initiatives, including identifying care gaps and improving preventive care compliance
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) reports to identify patients needing follow-up or additional care
  • Assist with healthcare compliance, medical records, and health information management (HIM) initiatives

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • Experience in Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Healthcare Compliance, or related areas
  • Comfortable working with healthcare data, reports, and quality metrics
  • Knowledge of medical records, EMR systems, and HIM compliance
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
