Patient Care Coordinator

Hours:
- Hours of Operation: 7:00a – 7:00p
- 40 hours/week: 8hr shifts + 1 late shift/week
Responsibilities:
- Triaging and managing incoming communications from patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, hospitals, and physician offices, routing them to the correct parties.
- Coordinating patient scheduling, which includes booking appointments, following up on missed visits, and managing the doctors’ daily calendars.
- Verifying insurance coverage online and managing complex authorizations for motor vehicle accident (MVA) and workers’ compensation cases.
- Tracking patient compliance by ensuring prescribed testing (like imaging and labs) is completed and that corresponding follow-up visits are scheduled.
- Processing administrative paperwork, including preparing patient-requested disability or MVA forms, handling legal document requests from attorneys, and ensuring provider documentation is complete.
- Monitoring digital communication channels, such as the Snap Engage webchat daily, and responding to inquiries promptly.
- Creating accurate electronic medical notes, general records, and telephone encounter logs within the patient management system.
- Serving as a vital liaison between patients, external departments, and healthcare providers while educating patients on practice policies and CDC guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Patient care coordinator experience (3+ years)
- Orthopedic/Pain Management experience
- Knowledge of insurance verification
- EMR experience
Compensation:
- $22-25/hr
