Hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant Float (Shelton, Fairfield, Trumbull and Stratford float) at $30/hr in Connecticut. 

Medical Assistant diploma/certificate from school only: $24/hr pay rate
Active National Medical Assistant Certificate: $27-30/hr (based on experience!)
With active national certificate: 1 – 2 years – $27/hr; 2 – 10 years – $28-29/hr; 10+ – $30/hr max

  • Working with infants / toddlers, new parents, etc. – MUST have empathy and patience. 
  • Must have CMA/RMA cert & opportunity for growth includes being open to getting vaccination certificate to be able to administer vax’s
    • This role is great for growth (MAs can sit in for an 8 hours class to get certified to administer vaccines)
  • Monday-Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm
  • Saturday 9:00am to 3:30pm, Sunday 9:00am to 12:30pm
  • Holidays 9:00am to 12:30pm
  • Candidates will work: Three 8 hour day shifts (7:45-4:30), one 12 hour shift (8-8) and 1 weekend shift per month

Seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated excellent patient and family-centered care, is a team player, and has a strong work ethic. The Medical Assistant (MA) is primarily responsible for providing safe, evidence-based care to patients from infancy through young adulthood, as well as other duties as assigned.

Overall Responsibility

Integral part of the clinical team primarily responsible for providing safe, evidence-based care for our patients, exceptional support, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the clinicians and the patients. 

Essential Skills & Abilities
• Complete medication prior authorizations
• Complete medical prior authorizations for procedures (i.e. CAT scan, MRI, etc.)
• Complete referrals to specialists (i.e. Yale, CCMC, etc.)
• Maintain and record daily lab controls and refrigerator/ freezer temps.
• Check oxygen tanks weekly.
• Develops, implements, and maintains control reports for quality assurance.
• Room patients & complete all intakes for patients.
             o Intake acutes: document chief complaint, HPI, ROS, PFSH, allergies, medications & vitals (including but not limited to blood pressure, weight, height, etc.) in EHR and prepare patient prior to examination.
            o Intakes physical: document chief complaint, vitals (including but not limited to blood pressure, weight, height, etc.), allergies and additional information as per provider, review chart for immunizations, blood work (hgb, cholesterol), hearing and vision and prepare patient prior to examination by the physician.
• Arrange appointments with specialists and follow up tests as needed.
• Process pre-certification requests for medicines as needed.
• Performs various in-office testing, such as vision, hearing, and others.
• Perform Spirometry.
• Store and handle vaccines appropriately per protocols.
• Complies with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly. 
• Help answer phones to clinical area.
• Complies with all policies and procedures.
• Regular and prompt attendance is expected and required.
• All other duties as required or assigned.

Position Requirements
• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Must be certified Medical Assistant with a current certification in good standing in the State of Connecticut.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience (preferably in pediatrics) 
• Computer skills are required (working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred).
• Knowledge of EHR software is preferred.
