Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist (Scheduler) to support a fast-paced manufacturing / product development environment. This role will focus on building, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project and Critical Path Method (CPM), with strong alignment to real-world manufacturing workflows.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong collaboration across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Scheduling & Planning
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Build and manage CPM-based schedules, including dependencies, sequencing, and critical path analysis
- Translate manufacturing process flow (engineering ? procurement ? build ? test ? delivery) into executable schedules
Execution Tracking & Analysis
- Track daily progress vs. plan across key production milestones
- Identify schedule variances, delays, and critical path impacts
- Recommend recovery actions and schedule adjustments as needed
Reporting & Communication
- Provide daily and weekly schedule updates to project leadership
- Develop concise look-ahead reports, milestone tracking, and variance analysis
- Communicates schedule status, risks, and impacts clearly to stakeholders
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to validate schedule logic and assumptions
- Ensure alignment between material availability, labor, equipment, and production sequencing
- Serve as a central point for schedule communication across the project team
Risk & Change Management
- Identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and resource constraints
- Maintain schedule baseline and manage updates as scope and priorities evolve
- Support mitigation planning to maintain delivery commitments
Data Integrity & Tools
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date schedules and documentation
- Ensure consistency of schedule data across reporting and tracking systems
- Support integration with project reporting and tracking tools
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Controls Specialist or Project Scheduler
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project
- Solid experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production flow
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment
