About the Client
Our client is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in the design and production of large-scale machinery. The organization operates within a highly collaborative environment where accounting works closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and leadership teams to support project execution and operational performance.
The manufacturing process includes:
• CNC machining and in-house fabrication
• Assembly operations
• Outside vendor processing such as grinding, milling, plating, and heat treatment
• Procurement of controls and components from suppliers including Siemens and Allen-Bradley
Position Responsibilities
• Perform project and cost accounting activities across multiple machinery builds and manufacturing projects
• Track and analyze direct labor, material costs, inventory usage, and project-specific expenditures
• Monitor cost centers and maintain accurate project P&L reporting
• Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand material flow and operational impacts on accounting
• Analyze engineering change orders and cost impacts throughout the production lifecycle
• Assist with financial modeling, reporting, and detailed spreadsheet analysis
• Collaborate with the existing cost accounting team and external CFO resource
• Support data analysis and operational reporting initiatives within the finance function
• Help maintain and improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies
Qualifications
• Strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or project-based environment
• Experience with inventory, labor tracking, job costing, and project accounting concepts
• Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and production teams
• Advanced Excel skills with experience building and working within complex spreadsheets and financial models
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and moving parts
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of demonstrating value quickly
• ERP experience preferred; exposure to Infor Visual or manufacturing ERP systems is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Compensation & Work Environment
• Compensation target: up to approximately $80-90k+ depending on experience
• Primarily onsite in Woonsocket, RI
• Occasional work-from-home flexibility available as needed
