Job Title: Senior Site Planner

Location: Littleton, MA Position Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $125,000 – $135,000

Position Summary

As a Senior Site Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the successful deployment of advanced proton therapy systems. You will serve as the primary technical design liaison between the organization and customer architectural/engineering (A/E) teams. This role spans the entire project lifecycle—from conducting early feasibility assessments with Sales to overseeing final construction documentation and on-site inspections. Your expertise will ensure that complex infrastructure requirements are seamlessly integrated into clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Leadership: Serve as the lead technical contact for customer design teams, providing guidance from initial concept through “Issued-for-Construction” documentation.

  • Feasibility & Strategy: Partner with Sales and Project Management to evaluate potential sites, conduct layout studies, and perform infrastructure suitability analyses for new opportunities.

  • Technical Coordination: Bridge the gap between internal engineering (mechanical, electrical, radiation shielding) and external building designs to ensure system compatibility.

  • Document Oversight: Review and approve architectural and engineering drawings at key milestones (SD, DD, CD phases). Proactively identify and resolve design conflicts.

  • Standards & Improvement: Maintain and improve Site Planning Guides, technical templates, and installation criteria to drive global consistency.

  • On-Site Verification: Travel to customer sites (domestic and international) to perform inspections, ensuring construction aligns with rigorous technical specifications.

  • Team Development: Lead site planning efforts and mentor technical staff, utilizing project and resource planning tools to meet company objectives.

Education, Training, & Experience

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (equivalent work experience considered).

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in site planning, architectural coordination, or technical design specifically for large-scale capital equipment installations.

  • Technical Expertise: * Proven experience coordinating complex building systems (HVAC, high-voltage electrical, structural, IT infrastructure).

    • Deep understanding of radiation oncology or medical device installation is strongly preferred.

    • Working knowledge of building codes, healthcare construction standards, and seismic requirements.

  • Software Proficiency: * Required: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.

    • Highly Desirable: Bluebeam, Solidworks, and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).

  • Global Readiness: Experience working with both metric and imperial units and a willingness to travel internationally as required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Translation: Ability to translate complex engineering requirements into clear architectural and infrastructure criteria.

  • Strategic Problem Solving: A proactive mindset for identifying risks during the design and construction phases.

  • Consultative Communication: A clear and confident communicator capable of influencing external contractors, A/E firms, and customer stakeholders.

  • Operational Agility: Ability to manage multiple concurrent site planning efforts in a fast-paced “scale-up” environment.

  • Collaboration: Strong cross-functional skills to work effectively with engineering, product development, and sales.
