  • Support annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modeling
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth and operational decision-making
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop one accounting team member
  • Assist in improving systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to support scalability and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and federal grant accounting/compliance
  • Demonstrated experience managing audits and financial reporting
  • Excellent technical accounting and analytical skills
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required
  • Strong proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining detail-oriented and hands-on
