Industrial Electrician
Location: Brentwood, NY
Type: Temp-to-perm (Possibility of direct-hire)
Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in an industrial controls maintenance environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2-year technical degree (Associate’s in Mechatronics, IET, EET).
- Advanced knowledge of electrical theory, principles of operation, and instrumentation, including PLC-based hardware and software.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to make quick, accurate repairs and program changes.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Self-directed, highly motivated, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Able to work in extreme temperatures; stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and operate power industrial trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain electrical systems for converting and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and malfunctions using PLCs, DCS, HMIs, servo systems, electrical schematics, meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Train and assist technicians with troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and calibrating electrical sensing and control devices, and DCS/PLC/HMI hardware.
- Participate in machine down days and trials, making decisions to avoid downtime, quality, scrap, and safety issues.
- Make complex program modifications to PLC logic, HMI programs, and servo controller logic; work with Controls Engineers on DCS changes.
- Complete assigned work orders and enter data into the computerized maintenance system.
- Observe OSHA and company safety rules; notify supervisor of electrical hazards and take corrective action.
Pay Rate: $23-$25+/hr, depending on experience
