Pay: $28.61–$35.00 per hour

Position Overview

A growing manufacturing company in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined candidate with manufacturing experience who is looking to continue developing their maintenance skills.

Candidates with strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and relevant manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply, as training can be provided for someone with less experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and auxiliary machinery.

  • Disassemble machinery to diagnose mechanical issues and complete necessary repairs.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

  • Make and repair pneumatic and hydraulic connections as needed.

  • Assist with the startup and testing of new, modified, or repaired production equipment.

  • Fabricate or modify replacement parts using equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.

  • Perform welding and basic fabrication as needed for equipment repairs.

  • Complete general repairs to facility and auxiliary systems, including air, gas, and water systems.

  • Work closely with toolmakers and other manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

  • Help ensure production equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Previous mechanical maintenance, machine repair, or related manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Exposure to hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.

  • Machining experience using manual lathes, mills, or surface grinders is a plus.

  • Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and work independently to complete repairs.

  • Willingness to learn and develop additional maintenance and machining skills.
