Yard Coordinator
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Unloading incoming materials and miscellaneous supply deliveries from tractor-trailers and delivery trucks.
- Loading company trucks with necessary equipment for upcoming projects.
- Organizing and staging raw materials and supplies for new and current projects.
- Maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe yard and material storage areas.
- Identifying, tagging, and properly storing materials as they are received.
- Assisting shop personnel with moving and handling product and supplies
- Operating forklifts, Lulls and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Securing and properly preparing loads for transportation to job sites.
- Assisting with inventory control and locating materials throughout the yard.
- Keeping access roads, loading areas, and work areas clear and safe.
- Assisting with general yard maintenance and other duties as assigned.
- Following all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in, construction, manufacturing, or industrial yard environment preferred.
- Experience operating a forklift, overhead crane, or other material-handling equipment.
- MA issued 1C Hoisting License
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle steel and other heavy materials.
- Ability to read material tags, work orders, and basic shop/project documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Must be safety-conscious and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license required with clean driving record
- Background check; DOT Physical and Drug Test will be required
Physical Requirements:
This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to safely handle heavy steel and fabricated materials. Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting are required.
