HR Generalist

We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team and support a broad range of human resources functions in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone with solid generalist experience who is comfortable working across employee relations, recruiting, HR administration, and day-to-day employee support.

Because we are a lean organization, this person will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of HR activities and should be comfortable wearing multiple hats. While we are not looking for someone with extensive years of experience, we are seeking a candidate who has meaningful exposure to core HR functions and can operate with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on HR-related questions, policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.

  • Support employee relations, including addressing employee questions and concerns, documenting issues, and partnering with management to resolve workplace matters.

  • Manage and support recruiting activities, including posting positions, reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and assisting with the hiring and onboarding process.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality.

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Review employee time cards for accuracy and make necessary timekeeping entries or corrections.

  • Support payroll administration by providing accurate timekeeping information; this role will not be responsible for processing payroll.

  • Assist with benefits administration and employee communications as needed.

  • Help maintain compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws and regulations.

  • Support performance management, employee engagement, and other HR initiatives.

  • Prepare HR reports and maintain HR-related data and files.

  • Assist with other HR projects and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an HR Generalist or similar broad-based HR role.

  • Solid understanding of core HR functions, with particular strength in employee relations and recruiting.

  • Experience working in a smaller or lean organization is a plus; the ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership and handling a variety of responsibilities.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Comfortable working independently while also partnering effectively with managers and employees.

  • Experience with timekeeping systems and reviewing employee time records.

  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Experience with ADP is preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable business software.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on HR professional who understands the fundamentals of HR and enjoys being involved in the day-to-day needs of the organization. You don’t need to have extensive experience in every area of HR, but you should have a solid generalist foundation, particularly in employee relations and recruiting, and be willing to jump in wherever needed.

Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with ADP are valuable, but we are open to candidates who bring strong transferable HR experience from other industries.
