Job Description:
Coordinate, stage , Inspect, load, deliver, and unload finish product and materials to job site. Coordinate shipping schedule with project management, Install, manufacturing, and Finish . Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department. Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for training, and coaching employees.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include: staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.
  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.
  • Stage and load finish product on trucks with pads and make sure product is protected and safely secured with straps for delivery.
  • Co-ordinate delivery of loads to the job sites, unwrap and unload product to installation on time.
  • Determine quickest and most efficient delivery route.  Provide driver with maps and other related documents for safe and speedy travel.
  • Call installation site supervisors 30 minutes before delivery to prepare site for quick and easy access in and out of job site.
  • Coordinate and transport goods and materials to off site warehouse as needed.
  • Maintain and complete weekly mileage logs 
  • Communicate with project managers, and installers to coordinate the weekly shipping schedule for maximum efficiency and fit.
  • Coordinate with the facility all maintenance schedules and repairs.
  • Responsible to keep truck fleet clean and fueled.
  • Responsible to equip and maintain all D.O.T. safety equipment and related safety and municipal paperwork and documents in fleet at all times.
  • Responsible to process all UPS and FEDEX shipments along with other request on demand.
  • Book all Talbot retail customer shipments on the computer and send information to their transportation departments.
  • Responsible to review all products being shipped for damage or quality control issues and to report them immediately for repair.
  • Sign off all packing slips for accuracy, Back orders etc. when complete and hand them in to front office. 
  • Responsible for the safe and organized storage of all finished goods release to Shipping after signoff. 
  • Coordinate with installation any equipment or items needed to be shipped to job site with scheduled delivery.
  • Make sure all installation “product pickups” are accounted for and stage / wrapped for morning pickup.
  • Manage and direct all contract labor shipping companies sent to H&W for pickups.
  • Responsible for all local product pickup and deliveries (local hardware store) as directed by the Purchasing department including buyout manufacturing or specialty materials pick up and delivery.
  • Responsible for Flagging and bringing to the attention of the Department heads including the Project Manager any items incomplete on the packing list for any reason.
  • Responsible for staging and maintaining area for finished goods across the river.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist manufacturing to label, wrap, and package kits, bundles, mouldings, shelves, etc.
  • Assist the finish department by empting finish racks and moving materials and finish goods to proper destinations when needed.
  • Operate forklifts within standard operating procedures and Job Safety Analysis when assisting receiver and labor.
  • Order all shipping and packaging materials.
  • Clean and maintain work areas and shipping docks.
  • Be Professional, act responsibly.
  • Display a positive can do attitude. Avoid gossip.
  • Offer suggestions for company wide improvement
  • Assist with on the job training with new employees.
  • Promote your coworkers and the company.
  • Input and being able to adapt to new and future systems
