Hiring for a Medical Call Center Representative (fully on-site!) for a Neurology clinic in Boston. 

Opportunity to do hybrid AFTER 90 days (will be 3 days on-site and 2 days remote)

Minimum 1 year of recent medical office/medical call center experience required. 

Pay: $24-$26/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:55am-4:25pm or 8:35am-5:05pm – Exact shift will be determined based on department needs. Must be open to either schedule. 

Summary/what the are looking for:

  • The Patient Access Coordinator supports the Neurology Call Center by handling approximately 60–100 inbound calls per day, depending on call volume, assisting patients with scheduling appointments and procedures, coordinating referrals and authorizations, and providing timely, professional patient service
  • Incredibly busy call center!
  • Schedule can vary depending on their needs
  • Must know the expectations of the remote aspect; heavy load of calls, childcare must be taken care of, no one in the room with you ever while taking calls at home, hippa
  • Will be provided with a laptop and headset for remote work

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of direct experience within a call center environment highly desirable
  • Healthcare or hospital setting experience desirable
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Call center, ambulatory practice, or customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare, medical terminology, and insurance experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and follow direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound calls and assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling Neurology appointments, procedures, and Radiology exams.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information and communicate referral or authorization requirements.
  • Accurately provide appointment details, including date, time, location, and provider.
  • Route patient messages and triage calls according to department protocols.
  • Process prescription refill requests in Epic and route them to the appropriate neurologist.
  • Assist with medication and procedure prior authorizations.
  • Obtain outside medical records, imaging, and other documentation needed for new patient visits.
  • Support Neurology e-referral work queues and conduct timely patient outreach.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, managers, and colleagues.
  • Follow hospital and department customer service, safety, and scheduling standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Patient Access Center Manager.
