About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Dairy Farm Operations Manager to lead herd health, milk production, daily farm operations, and farm staff. This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing a 130+ head Holstein herd while driving animal welfare, milk quality, operational efficiency, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee herd health, reproduction, nutrition, milk production, and animal welfare
- Partner with veterinarians and nutritionists to optimize herd performance
- Monitor herd health and production metrics and implement continuous improvements
- Oversee daily farm operations, facilities, equipment, inventory, and safety
- Lead, coach, and develop farm staff while managing staffing and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with agricultural, environmental, animal welfare, and safety standards
- Support long-term operational strategy and business performance
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading a commercial dairy operation, herd, or production team
- Strong knowledge of herd health, reproduction, nutrition, and milk production
- Proven experience leading and developing employees
- Experience with herd management and production tracking systems
- Ability to operate tractors, skid steers, and other farm equipment
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Dairy Management, or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible 365-day schedule
