Collection Specialist
Attleboro, MA

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts in arrears to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Notifying customers of overdue payments and accounts by telephone, mail, and email – including timely follow up if a reply is not received.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing delinquent accounts.
  • Professional handling of customer inquiries, including providing detailed customer reconciliations and statements as required, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments.
  • Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.
  • Tracing and locating debtors to make payment arrangements.
  • Communicate through proper channels with mall or account managers on tenant changes (opens, closes, rate changes, collections)
  • Recommending further action where payment is not forthcoming – including liaising with third party collection agency if necessary.
  • Assist in developing strategies to improve the overall collections process.
  • Recognize the need to escalate collection matters when appropriate.
  • Preparing reports related to collection work.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues or concerns.
  • Utilize Sage and/or other collection software to record and track payment activities.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two to four years of experience within a Collections Specialist, Accounts Receivables, or Billing role.
  • Proficient in using MS Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

We are looking for an individual that works well both independently and in a team environment.  We like the “can do” attitude and someone who is willing to chip in where needed.  Knowledge of Sage accounting software is preferred, but not necessary.  Microsoft Office is a must.
