Human Resources Director
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for all human resources functions within a mission-driven healthcare organization. The HR Director will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employee engagement.
This individual will be a collaborative leader who can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, 24/7 healthcare environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of all Human Resources operations and initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Partner with senior leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, organizational development, and employee engagement.
- Lead recruitment and retention initiatives to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations.
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance management.
- Manage compensation, benefits administration, HR policies, and HRIS processes.
- Coach and support managers on employee performance, leadership development, and workforce best practices.
- Analyze HR metrics and recommend solutions to improve retention, engagement, and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while exercising sound judgment in sensitive employment matters.
- Support operational needs outside of traditional business hours when necessary, including occasional evenings, weekends, or off-shift hours, to meet the needs of a 24/7 healthcare operation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing HR functions and partnering with organizational leadership is required.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, employee relations, performance management, and talent acquisition.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Human Resources experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is preferred.
- Experience supporting a 24/7 workforce and partnering with clinical and operational leadership is highly desirable.
