Nurse Manager
Location: New Britain, CT
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, generally 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (occasional evenings and weekends as needed)
Compensation: $106,000-$118,000 annually, based on experience and education
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee clinical operations at a busy outpatient practice. This leadership role is responsible for managing nursing staff, supporting providers, maintaining efficient clinical workflows, and ensuring high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate is an experienced RN with strong leadership skills who excels in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing teams and improving clinical operations.
Responsibilities

Provide leadership and daily supervision for Registered Nurses, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.

Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff.

Promote a positive, collaborative work environment while supporting staff development and accountability.

Oversee patient triage, nursing workflows, and clinical operations to ensure efficient, high-quality care.

Ensure compliance with nursing standards, clinical policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Partner with providers and operational leadership to optimize scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.

Coordinate clinical training, orientation, and continuing education for nursing staff.

Lead quality improvement initiatives and support process improvements across the practice.

Assist with budget oversight and resource planning for the nursing department.

Serve as a clinical resource for staff and help resolve operational or patient care issues.

Support providers with patient care and clinical procedures as needed.

Travel occasionally to other practice locations based on operational needs.
Qualifications
Required
-
Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Current BLS/CPR certification.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Strong communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred

Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.

Two or more years of outpatient or ambulatory nursing experience.

Experience with electronic health records (EHR).

Bilingual skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
