Nurse Manager

Location: New Britain, CT
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, generally 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (occasional evenings and weekends as needed)
Compensation: $106,000-$118,000 annually, based on experience and education

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee clinical operations at a busy outpatient practice. This leadership role is responsible for managing nursing staff, supporting providers, maintaining efficient clinical workflows, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate is an experienced RN with strong leadership skills who excels in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing teams and improving clinical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and daily supervision for Registered Nurses, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff.

  • Promote a positive, collaborative work environment while supporting staff development and accountability.

  • Oversee patient triage, nursing workflows, and clinical operations to ensure efficient, high-quality care.

  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, clinical policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with providers and operational leadership to optimize scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.

  • Coordinate clinical training, orientation, and continuing education for nursing staff.

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support process improvements across the practice.

  • Assist with budget oversight and resource planning for the nursing department.

  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff and help resolve operational or patient care issues.

  • Support providers with patient care and clinical procedures as needed.

  • Travel occasionally to other practice locations based on operational needs.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.

  • Two or more years of outpatient or ambulatory nursing experience.

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).

  • Bilingual skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
