Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager / Senior HR Generalist to join our team in Holyoke, MA. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and is comfortable managing the full scope of HR operations.
This is a true generalist role with broad responsibility across employee relations, compliance, benefits, talent acquisition, and HR operations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience handling disciplinary actions, employee relations issues, and HRIS systems (ADP preferred).
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day HR operations across multiple functional areas, including:
- Employee relations
- Benefits administration
- Recruiting & onboarding
- Performance management
- Compliance & HR audits

Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on:
- Employee relations matters (disciplinary actions, terminations, investigations)
- HR policies and best practices

Lead and support employee investigations and recommend appropriate actions

Oversee and administer:
- FMLA, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation
- Benefits programs and annual open enrollment
- OSHA and workplace safety compliance

Manage and maintain HRIS systems (ADP preferred), including:
- Employee data
- Reporting and analytics
- Documentation compliance

Generate and analyze HR metrics to support organizational decision-making

Develop and deliver training programs, including compliance and policy training

Ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

Support or supervise HR staff (if applicable), providing mentorship and guidance
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a true HR Generalist or HR Manager role
- Demonstrated experience handling:
- Employee relations issues
- Disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (ADP preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- FLSA, ADA, Title VII, ERISA, and other employment laws
- Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and compliance
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or highly regulated environments
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
