Summary:
Responsible for the safe and proper handling of materials in a timely manner. Keep production centers supplied with raw materials and transport finished product to other areas using material handling equipment.
Essential Duties
- Responsible for the daily upkeep /cleanliness of the equipment he/she may operate and the general work area.
- Perform daily assignments for Materials Operations personnel.
- Fulfills worksheets or tickets by reading production schedules, order forms and requisitions.
- Locates and gathers products to move and distribute to production workers, assembly line, or to shipping areas.
- Assembles, builds, wraps, sorts, and transports customer orders.
- Operates hand truck, cart, doilies, forklift, to transport items.
- Employee will occasionally set-up and operate production equipment.
- Perform work in a safe an efficient manner in compliance with company and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Performance of other duties and responsibilities as required by management.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts.
- Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours per day for up to 5 days a week.
- Must have high sense of urgency
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Lift up to 49 pounds
- Flexibility to work mandatory overtime based on business needs
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
