Guest Services Specialist
Boston, MA
Hours:

  • Wednesday – Sunday: 7:00a – 3:00p

Responsibilities:

  • Motivate guests daily to transition quickly out of the shelter into stable housing, including family reunification or community-of-origin relocation
  • Partner with Triage, Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), and housing placement teams to accelerate permanent housing matches
  • Diffuse high-stress situations using Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Critical Incident Debriefing
  • Proactively conduct regular wellness checks throughout the facility
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, shelter intakes, suspension of services (SOS) records, and HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) data
  • Attend mandatory training (CPI, CPI refreshers, Narcan, Trauma-Informed Care) and actively engage in staff meetings and individual supervision
  • Report to work during severe weather events and organizational emergencies

Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in Human Services field
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to stretch, bend, and lift 25 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills

Compensation:

  • $21.40/hr
