Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pay Rate: $21.50/hr
Locations: Pittsfield, West Stockbridge – Massachusetts
Schedules: Full and Part-time available
Shifts: 1st, 2nd, 3rd available

Summary:
Direct Support Professional is primarily responsible for providing various support to individuals with disabilities. The DSP assists individuals in all areas of daily living including personal care, housekeeping, cooking, and recreational activities. The DSP works closely with individuals to help them to become as independent as possible and to meet their own personal goals. Also assists individuals to find and participate in community activities they enjoy while encouraging community membership as well as pursuing individual interests.
Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centered support that promotes independence, dignity, choice, and quality of life while treating all individuals, coworkers, and community members with respect and following DDS Human Rights standards and DPPC Mandated Reporter requirements.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, meals, medication support, household tasks, transportation, and participation in recreational, social, and community activities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming home environment while supporting healthy lifestyles, encouraging personal growth, self-advocacy, and meaningful community inclusion.
- Implement and document individual service plans (ISPs), behavior support plans, medication protocols, and daily progress notes in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies by following agency procedures, providing first aid/CPR (as certified), and contacting emergency services when necessary. Safely manage medications, individual funds, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain professionalism by arriving on time, remaining alert throughout scheduled shifts, ensuring proper shift coverage, and following agency attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping procedures.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions; maintain all required certifications; complete onboarding and DSP Pathway Level I requirements within the first 90 days; regularly review agency communications; maintain HIPAA confidentiality; comply with all agency, DDS, DPH, ABI/MFP, and applicable regulations; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or one year experience in a related field
- Must possess basic math (addition/subtraction) skills, ability to read & write, communicate effectively both verbally and written, ability to multi-task and exercise good judgement.
- Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks,
- Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.
Physical Requirements And Mental Demands Of Position:
Because of the nature of the work to be performed, requirements may include the following at least some of the time while assisting individuals in the completion of their routine tasks. Indoor and outdoor work is required
