Estimator – Aerospace Manufacturing
Southwick, MA
Full-Time
Compensation: $110K–$115K

We are partnering with a growing aerospace manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. This individual will play a key role in analyzing technical documentation, preparing detailed cost estimates, and supporting the manufacturing process for complex hard metal aerospace components.

Position Summary

Responsibilities include analyzing blueprints, specifications, and related technical documentation to prepare labor, cost, and production estimates for aerospace components. This role will also support the creation and maintenance of manufacturing routings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Requirements

  • Prior estimating experience within the aerospace industry is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret customer blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
  • Experience creating BOMs and manufacturing routings
  • Familiarity with machining capabilities and related manufacturing processes
  • Process Engineering exposure is highly preferred
  • Self-directed and detail-oriented professional

Responsibilities

  • Review and acknowledge customer RFQs
  • Analyze technical documentation and manufacturing requirements
  • Prepare complete quote packages for internal review and approval
  • Gather vendor pricing and outside service quotes
  • Maintain organized estimating documentation and records
  • Follow all safety standards and PPE requirements
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 6S procedures
  • Support additional operational and manufacturing initiatives as needed

Working Environment

This role operates within a manufacturing environment and may involve:

  • Exposure to loud machinery and moving equipment
  • Exposure to oil, cutting fluids, dust, mist, and metal materials
  • Working around forklifts and sharp metal edges
  • Occasional travel between nearby manufacturing facilities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read technical documentation with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, reach overhead, push/pull, and sit for extended periods
