QUALITY MANAGER

Compensation: $110,000 – $120,000 + Bonus

A well-established and privately held international metals manufacturer is seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives within its Wire Division, an 83-person manufacturing facility located in North Haven, CT. This position offers the opportunity to join a highly respected organization with a strong reputation for quality, operational excellence, and long-term employee tenure.

This role will oversee one direct report and is ideal for either an experienced Quality Manager or a high-level Senior Quality Engineer ready to step into leadership.

Position Overview

The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing quality systems, laboratory and testing activities, customer compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. This individual will partner closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and Operations while ensuring compliance with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and nuclear documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support quality assurance activities across the facility
  • Review and validate quotes, routings, and certifications within the ERP system
  • Ensure nuclear order documentation and process plans are completed accurately
  • Direct laboratory testing and final material inspections prior to shipment
  • Support development and implementation of testing methods and standard operating procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement and cross-functional quality initiatives
  • Maintain calibration systems and quality records
  • Assist with customer claims investigations and corrective actions
  • Coordinate and support internal quality audits
  • Report quality metrics and performance trends to senior leadership
  • Supervise and mentor Quality Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, Operations Management, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience within Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering in a metals manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of metals processing, material properties, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting cross-functional manufacturing operations and customer requirements
  • Knowledge of calibration systems, quality documentation, audits, and testing procedures
