Greater Hartford, CT Area
Compensation: $90,000 – $95,000 base (flexibility to $100,000 for the right individual)

A well-established precision manufacturing organization within the aerospace industry is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve machining and production operations within a highly technical manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for an engineer with 5–7 years of experience who enjoys hands-on process improvement, manufacturing optimization, and supporting complex machined components from development through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies
  • Support new product introduction and process development activities
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows, tooling, layouts, and production methods to improve efficiency and throughput
  • Troubleshoot production and quality-related issues through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Collaborate closely with quality, production, engineering, and supply chain teams
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel
  • Assist with manufacturing documentation, process validation, and process capability initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience within an aerospace or precision machining environment
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Experience supporting machining operations including milling, turning, grinding, deburring, and related manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software
  • Familiarity with metrology equipment including calipers, indicators, height gauges, and shadowgraphs
  • Exposure to welding, laser cutting, EDM, or advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus
  • Understanding of aerospace quality standards and customer requirements such as Pratt & Whitney specifications/UPPAP is highly desirable
  • ERP system experience, particularly Epicor, is a plus
