Payroll Manager – $140K +/- + bonus

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Oversight: Play a key role in shaping the long-term vision for the payroll function; assess current systems and identify global best practices for administration and automation.
  • Operations Management: Lead the payroll team and oversee end-to-end processing to ensure accurate, timely payments to global employees, including all required country reporting and tax filings.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all operations align with internal policies, regional laws (state/province/local), and maintain strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Approve all payroll operational steps and funding cycles in close partnership with internal HR and Finance departments.
  • Equity & Stock Administration: Oversee the processing of equity grants (including stock options and RSUs), ensuring global tax compliance in coordination with equity vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Mobility Support: Partner with legal and external vendors to manage the payroll implications of global and regional employee mobility.
  • Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audit teams during quarterly and annual payroll reviews.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Systems Expertise: Significant experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • Tech-Forward Mindset: A passion for leveraging technology to drive team optimization and process efficiency.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to coach, develop, and mentor payroll professionals.
  • Vendor Management: Experience managing and holding external service providers accountable to high performance standards.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical instincts for resolving complex payroll and tax issues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing corporate environment.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant payroll experience, preferably within a publicly-traded, global technology company.
  • Leadership: At least 3 years of direct people management experience.
  • Global Scope: Prior experience managing international payroll cycles is highly preferred.
