Production Control Manager

Job Description

Summary
The position will report to the Operations Manager and provide direct support to the PM team and production floor. A successful candidate will operate within multiple shop floor controls and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) related systems to ensure alignment between material position, work order readiness, forecasting, and production requirements. This role will work closely with the factory operations team to ensure all factory and program execution goals are correctly scheduled and met. The role will own and utilize key performance metrics to maintain system integrity and drive a high level of performance designed to support the business’ site level goals of profitability and on-time delivery.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This role requires daily interaction with cross functional teams, programs, and production cells to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives
    • These groups include planning, purchasing, operations, quality, engineering/test/NPIs, all production, and maintenance employees
  • The individual in this role will need to quickly develop credibility and influence, aligning the execution of the operations’ plan, to meet critical customer deadlines with supply chain strategies, financial targets, and capacity/demand fluctuations.
  • Managing a planning department with up to three production control professionals reporting into this position.
  • Material availability analysis, tracking, and reporting
  • Manage kit readiness including working with a cross-functional team of Buyers, Process Engineering, Operations, and Document Control
  • Releasing or facilitating the timely release of production orders in our MRP systems and confirming shop floor system preparedness.
  • Coordinates kitting process with multiple cells and consolidation areas
  • Account for the physical disposition of nonconforming or specially handled material including Return to Vendor, purged material, Line stops, and Purges.
  • Maintain integrity of the shop floor, MRP, and inventory systems through key performance metrics and PI initiatives
  • Process piece part movement to support internal build requirements through subcontractors, internal shared resources, and upper-level allocations.
  • Provide input to management and/or interfaces with marketing, sales, production and engineering managers to reschedule in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions

Qualifications
• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
• Masters’ degree is a bonus
• Supervisory and leadership backgrounds are preferred
• Must have a strong background in supporting a high volume, manufacturing operation.
• Experience in an international, multi-plant Contract Manufacturing environment is desirable
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have the ability to lead and multi- task in dynamic work situation
• Must be a “hands on”, team player
• Posses organizational skills
• Proven track record of implementing complex projects with cross-functional teams is essential
• ISO background a must
• Highly Proficient use of excel
• Familiarities with Macros are preferred
• APICS Certification desirable. . . Pay Statement and Pay Transparency Laws: rate of pay listed is on a per hour basis.
