Job Description
Assistant Controller
Columbia, CT | Onsite (5 days/week)
Compensation: $105,000 – $115,000 (based on experience)

We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturer seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join a small, collaborative accounting team. This individual will play a key role in driving accuracy, efficiency, and financial visibility across the organization — with a clear path to the Controller position within two years.
Key Responsibilities

Manage core accounting functions including AP/AR, treasury, and cost controls.

Support and continuously improve the month-end close and financial reporting processes.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering to track costs and drive profitability.

Perform variance, margin, and ROI analyses to support pricing and investment decisions.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

3–7 years of accounting or finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience preferred.

Highly organized, analytical, and motivated to take on broader leadership responsibilities.
