Job Summary: Create comprehensive financial analyses and financial proformas for new business opportunities, existing services, equipment, and capital requests that can be used to make well informed decisions. Present analyses to value-analysis teams, physicians, and leadership as requested. Prepare five year financial forecasts based on historical data and future trends. Coordinate capital and operating budgets for entire organization, including update and maintenance of budgeting system, review and reconciliations of data, performance of variance analyses, and preparation of budget statements/reports. Maintain, update, and reconcile the cost accounting system to ensure accurate costs are reported. Prepares third-party cost report filings. Assists in preparation of more complex cost report worksheets including Bad Debts, Wage Index, DSH and S-10. Gathers documentation and information in response to cost report audits and other audit requests Responsible for productivity reporting and labor management systems. Communicates productivity to management and advises management on how to maintain acceptable productivity standards. Proactively coaches low productivity departments to acceptable levels.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics required. Minimum of either three years in healthcare finance experience or five years finance experience in another industry required. Experience working in reimbursement in a hospital, Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), and/or a professional audit or consulting firm focusing on cost reporting and health care reimbursement preferred, but not required. Solid understanding of financial statements, financial analyses and forecasts, budgeting processes, and cost accounting. Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, superior attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, effective communication skills. Extensive experience with all Microsoft Office programs, especially spreadsheets and databases.
