The Supply Chain Logistics Manager supports and coordinates the strategic objectives of the Shands Materials Management Department in alignment with the organization’s supply chain program and Integrated Service Center (ISC). This role is responsible for driving supply chain logistics improvements to meet customer service expectations across the health system.
The manager directs, documents, and coordinates communication related to service levels, delivery point changes, and the implementation of new or enhanced supply chain programs. This position provides operational leadership for key logistics functions to ensure efficient, reliable, and customer-focused supply distribution.
The role oversees the following departments within Supply Chain Logistics:
Central Distribution Center (CDC)
Equipment Distribution Center (EDC)
Shipping and Receiving
Operating Room Materials Management (ORMM)
CDC Customer Service
Support and coordinate the goals and initiatives of the Materials Management and supply chain programs.
Identify, evaluate, and implement logistics and distribution improvements to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
Direct and coordinate communication regarding service levels, delivery changes, and new or enhanced supply chain programs.
Ensure consistent, reliable, and timely distribution of medical and non-medical supplies.
Provide leadership and operational oversight for CDC, EDC, Shipping and Receiving, OR Materials Management, and CDC Customer Service teams.
Monitor performance metrics and implement process improvements to support service and cost objectives.
Collaborate with clinical and operational departments to align supply chain services with organizational needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare management experience; or
Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a defined completion date and seven (7) years of direct supply chain management experience.
At least three (3) years of supply chain experience within a healthcare environment, including warehouse and distribution operations.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong understanding of healthcare supply chain operations, including medical and non-medical supplies.
Knowledge of warehouse and distribution systems.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and supply chain management software.
Strong communication, coordination, and customer service skills.
