Lab Aide / Phlebotomist Perform phlebotomies and capillary blood collections from inpatients and outpatients, both on-site and off-site. Under the direction of the Manager, and/or Medical Technologist, processes and orders testing on specimens for reference laboratories, as well as performs CLIA waived laboratory testing. Under the direction of the Manager, and/or Medical Technologist, responsible for following Quality Control Practices in relation to CLIA waived laboratory testing. Responsible for keeping track of all specimens submitted to pathology. Maintains good public relations with the physicians and their staff, patients and the general public. Instructs patients on proper collection of both urine, as well as stool specimens. Collects nasal washings from out patients. Collects urine specimens for urine pre-employment drug screens, utilizing a chain of custody.
