Job Description

Hiring for a Family NP or a Physician Assistant in New Britain, CT.

MUST have a minimum of 12-18 months primary care experience as an NP or PA. 

6 month contract with possible extensions
Hours: M-F with 5x8s preferred, 4x10s considerable, one Sat per month (day off during the week to compensate)
Pay Rate: $85/hour

Site details:

  • EMR: eClinicalWorks
  • Patient expectation: 8hr day is 21 visits, 10hr is 28 visits per day
  • Supporting staff:
    • 1 provider to 1 MA; 2 providers to 1 RN
    • 2 Urgent Care providers there taking low acuity sick patients and school physicals etc.
    • Behavioral Health, Psych, Podiatry, Chiro and other services on site

JOB SUMMARY

Provides high quality primary care to individuals, families, and groups of clients according to established professional and medical standards.  Works collaboratively with other health care team members to meet both acute care, and health maintenance needs of clients.  Maintains hospital privileges as necessary according to local institution’s standards and requirements.  Maintains professional licensure as appropriate.  Fully established practice standards for productivity and appropriate utilization of care. 
 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical

Provides ongoing high quality primary care to clients. Performs clinical procedures competently. Works collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team members providing medical support and consultation as necessary. Maintains and documents the problem oriented medical record accurately after each client visit and monitors health maintenance checks of patient panel. 

Administrative

Maintains board certification/licensure. Attends continuing education programs. Maintains involvement in professional organizations as necessary. Meets hospital medical staff requirements as necessary. Collaborate with office manager and clerical/clinical staff to promote the smooth functioning of the medical component meeting client’s health care needs. Participates with Community Health Center management in developing and achieving optimal clinical performance and organizational goals for productivity and utilization.

Communicates effectively with clients and staff.  Documents interaction clearly and concisely in the medical record. Requires effective communication skills at all levels of interaction.  Required to develop bilingual capacity as dictated by needs of the site.

Requirements:

  • APRN: Graduate of an accredited Master of Science in Nursing program with a specialty as a family nurse practitioner. 
  • PA: Graduate of an accredited Master program in the study of physician assistant. 
  • Current American Heart Association BLS/AED
  • Infection Control Certification
