Role Highlights
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the firm’s financial operations across billing and collections, accounting, reporting, and financial planning. Working closely with attorneys and colleagues, this position ensures timely and accurate client invoicing, effective management of accounts receivable, and the preparation of reliable financial statements in accordance with GAAP. This detail-oriented and analytical professional collaborates across teams to maintain financial integrity, support sound decision-making, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies, while contributing to a high-performing, team-oriented accounting environment.
Primary Focus
•Billing & Invoicing: Manage the monthly client billing process, including coordinating time and expense entries, preparing draft invoices for attorney review, and ensuring timely issuance of final invoices.
•Accounts Receivable & Collections: Monitor outstanding balances and aging reports; follow up with clients and attorneys on overdue accounts. Record and reconcile payments, adjustments, and write-offs accurately in the accounting system.
•Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly and annual basis, along with additional financial reporting as requested.
•Accounting Compliance & Processes: Ensure accounting policies, processes, and procedures are documented, maintained, and aligned with GAAP standards.
•Closing & Budgeting: Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures, as well as supporting the annual budgeting process.
•Vendor Management & Reporting: Maintain vendor records, including collection of W-9s, and support year-end 1099 preparation and reporting.
•Systems & Reporting: Develop proficiency in the firm’s accounting system to support reporting requests, respond to inquiries, and identify opportunities for improved workflows and efficiencies.
•Technology & Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with accounting SaaS and merchant service providers, including implementing updates and communicating and training staff on system changes.
•Onboarding & Training: Assist with onboarding new employees, including system setup and training as needed.
•Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned: Responsibilities, duties, and activities may change at any time.
Core Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field required with 3+ years’ relevant accounting experience.
•Law firm or professional services experience a plus.
•Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
•Prior experience with time management software and document management systems.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro.
•Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, accurate work.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and conflicting requests in a fast-paced environment.
•Maintain high standards of professional conduct with the ability and affinity for adapting to various personalities and work styles while successfully delivering work products.
•Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
•Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic including dependability, respectfulness and accountability.

•Minimum of 40 hours/week during core office hours of 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday – Friday. Overtime is expected on occasion to meet position responsibilities and deadlines.
•While performing this job’s duties, the employee will have prolonged periods of sitting or standing and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
•Compensation for this position, ranging from $75,000 to $95,000, is commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
