Job Summary:

To manage the day-to-day operations of an assigned area in compliance with established policies and procedures. To participate in the development, interpretation and implementation of short and long-range strategic goals and policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of business operations or administrative support experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
  • Problem resolution skills
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies
  • Ability to prioritize projects
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and implement policies and procedures
  • Ability to analyze and prepare applicable reports and documentation

            Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of an assigned area to ensure service level and client satisfaction and regulatory compliance with federal, state, local, and university statutes, policies, and regulations.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of short-and long-range departmental goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness and implements measures to improve services.
  • Coordinates activities with other relevant staff to implement initiatives and improve the delivery of services.
  • Supervises any assigned personnel to include work allocation, training, evaluation, and problem resolution.
  • Executes special projects as needed and ensures completion within defined scope and time lines.
  • Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and interprets relevant documentation, reports, and forecasts. Ensures reports are submitted within the applicable time frame.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
